About Us
All Things Lesbian was originally founded in 2001 as a small programming project. Over the next few years, it managed to gain some momentum and as it grew, we upgraded our system to use a more robust content management system to handle our forum and other interactive features.
The downside to using these kind of systems is that they are very commonly the targets of hackers. Our site had been hacked a couple of times, but we managed to recover both times. But by the time of the third hacking, our web host shut the site down altogether. With limited resources, we didn't have the capabilities to recover to our former glory and we remained offline for a number of years.
After a period of prolonged unemployment, the webmaster took advantage of her free time and decided to get the site back up again in 2011.
In the past, we had a very lively forum that was well-maintained by an awesome moderator. Unfortunately, the forums will not be back this time around as they have always been prime targets for spammers, hackers, and men posing as lesbians. In short, they require much more time and effort to manage than we currently have resources for. In this incarnation, we decided it would be a good idea to stick to what we do best - providing a great and comprehensive directory of lesbian resources.
